How to play a European (PAL) Wii on an American (NTSC) TV?

by dianinco / May 17, 2015 12:40 PM PDT

We have moved from Europe to the US, and have brought our Nintendo Wii with us. The Wii will only work in black and white on the American TV. To fix this issue, I bought a PAL/NTSC converter online, but instead of fixing the problem, the screen was just full of pixelated colors. I'm not sure if this specific converter just doesn't work or if I need to find another type of converter. Basically, I just don't understand what I need to get to have the PAL Wii work perfectly on the NTSC TV - does anyone know or have experience with this? Please help! Thank you!

Thanks for responding. Is the component cable with the three colors for video? I haven't tried that, but was wondering where I could plug all of those in anyway? Any thoughts?

They go to the component inputs of the usual HDTV.

Thanks. I couldn't find them on the back of the TV, but was completely overlooking them on the side of the TV. I've just ordered them, and will update if it it works.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
