how to overcome a ZoneAlarm alert?

by pcalisse / November 16, 2004 11:56 AM PST

I receive this alert from zonealarm any time I login:

The firewall has blocked internet access to xxx.xxx.x.x (DNS) from your computer.

Apparently there is no way to overcome this popping up. How to set it in such a way that this harmless DNS call no more bother me?

thanks

pcalisse,

Double click on the ZA icon in the lower right system tray. When it opens, click on the "Alerts and Logs" tab on the left side of the screen. When that loads, click on the "Main" tab at the top and place a dot/tick in the "Off" selection.

That will stop all the ordinary alerts such as the ones you have mentioned. It will still alert when programs attempt to contact the internet.

Hope this helps.

Grif
