How to open a .wps file in the absence of Works software?

Feb 13, 2005 2:38AM PST

Hi,

I just received an attached file through my email in .wps format. I have discovered that this is associated with 'Works' software which I do not have. I have tried opening it with Word but it comes up in weird characters.

Is there a special trick I can use or a plug-in I can install? (I am using Windows XP Pro and Office 2002.)

If necessary I can ask them to send the file in a different format, but as it is a description of a potential job, I'd prefer not to.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks, Annabel Happy

Thanks for posting the link that you found. I still can't open the Works document, but I'll figure it out now that I know it's possible!
