How to open a new application within the browser

I am using XP Professional as my o/s and i want that a new application should run when i click toolbar button on the explorer and that new application should be a part of the explorer window only.

Unlikely. Here's why.

That's the exact reason why Explorer has been compromised for years. When it first appeared, people could launch notepad, fdisk and other dangerous applications so Microsoft had to shut most if not all of this off to save their OS from being labeled as insecure.

actually thi is my major Project and my project is to install an addon on to the internet explorer and when u click onto the addon a new application should open within the browser as a part of it.... i had installed the addon but when u click on it a new application opens seperately not with in the browser... and i want it to open within the brower......i just want to know the way how it is been done.....

To run inside the browser "Explorer" it has to be either a BHO (see the wikipedia) or an Active Object. You have to write the application using those methods.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
