To move away from a reactionary support system you would banish all personal computers. Wow, I bet you didn't see that coming. The reason for most support calls is there is a pest, bug or something amiss with a PC.
If you replace them all with task oriented systems then the users are locked down so tightly that nothing can go wrong. You are now on top of it.
This is how it was years ago with mainframes and terminals so we only need to look back to see how to be on top of a strategic system.
Bob
How can one move from an always 'operational' state with one's personal IT management ie. having to react to incidents when they arise (ideally) to a 'strategic' state where one is 'on top' of one's management of this?
It would be called something like "strategically oriented personal IT management" or "strategic personal IT management".
I don't entirely know what this 'state' looks like or comprises in terms of knowledge & actions to be performed, but I have read about this, so it does exist.
I would like this, as much as is possible, & as much as is possible for a person not from an IT background— without having to undertake a computing science degree or anything approximating it.
Anyone here heard about such a 'state'? Anyone here doing this themselves? If, so, what does it comprise?
Thanks.
