How to modify a JPEG

I got a letter which I scanned .It opened in JPEG.There are a few words in the middle of the text which I need to change .How to do it ?

Save it in an alternative form

open the Jpeg then save it to your preffered folder in a different format
Then open the new format and edit
You do not say what Prgs. you have so can not recomend one you may not have.

Most newer scanners have software that has OCR capabilities. (Optical Character Recognition). Scanning the letter again using the OCR program will allow you to save the program as a Word document file, or some similar word processing file. The file can then be edited in the word processing program and printed out as you choose.

In addition, if you're really good with MSPaint, you can open the Paint program (on most computers at Start-Programs-Accessories) and make the changes. Unfortunately, this program isn't the easiest to work with for the purpose you've got in mind.
