Question

How to make WLM send messages to bcc addresses

Jan 18, 2013 1:44AM PST

I am using WLM on Windows 8. I have a e-mail group (or category - as it is called in WLM) of about 400 addresses that I e-mail a newsletter to on a weekly basis. It always works from a different computer with MS-Vista using Windows Mail, but not with this computer (Windows 8 with WLM). So it is definitely not ISP or spam issue.
Is there a configuration within WLM to enable sending to bcc addresses? Thanks for any leads...

Is this a question on how to show BCC? Or something else?

I can show the BCC field, no problem with that but...

... the e-mail message is not being delived to the recipients in the bcc (which is a group of ~400 addresses). I don't get error error messages, or any bounce back.. Everything appears to be sent normally, but no one received the e-mail!. Thanks

Answer
Just use the WLM in desktop mode.

With the WLM in desktop mode, just click on the word To... and you'll see a place to put the To, CC, and BCC. I've been using it with Windows 7 for 4 years. In desktop mode, it works the same as in Windows 7.

Good luck.

See that MSFT discussion.

There are far too many variables in BCC with many addresses. Your average poster will want to discount ISP and other issues but in fact it can be that. For example if the old PC sent this out slowly it might not trip some trigger at the ISP.

BCC to such groups is not a sure thing. And only those that want trouble use MSFT Live apps.

There, I've said it.

I'm having a similar issue with Win7

I've discovered if I create a new category / group, and copy/paste the addresses from the original category / group that no longer works, I can then put my new category / group in the BCC field and the email goes out to everyone. However, it is becoming a bit of a pain to continue to do this every week.
