Your post is light on information:
Are you dual booting Ubuntu with another distro
Is Ubuntu the only distro on your Pc or laptop

Normally you can hold down the shift key while booting and get the grub menu

List any errors you are receiving while booting

I want to display my GRUB menu by default without pressing the shift key.
