how to know -how many packets revieced or lost and....

the time it took to recieve the packet

-i have a 108 MBPS Netgear Router
and a toshiba L25 ----(look into my Cnet Got it List)

my cousin and i r trying to make a sci-fair project (i am just helping - its actually his idea)

we r putting water jug(full of water) steel, wood, bricks, and... arounf the laptop and see how many packets are lost or recieved. but i don't know how to know how many packets lost or recieved --and also-how much time it took!

any info about my problem or even improving the proj - will be greatly appriciated

How about the PING command?

Start, Run, type command (or cmd)

on dos windows, type:

ping (website address or IP address)

Try NETSTAT -E

While you omitted which OS, XP (and maybe Windows NT/2000) have the NETSTAT program. The -E tells it to show the statistics.
