How to keep PC shutdown after overheat

My PC sometimes overheats, i am working on fixing it, but when it shutdown is boot up immediately. How can i make it stay shut down until i want to start it?

Such as model number, OS age etc. Hard for members to guess without this info.

Open the Control Panel, then double click on "System". Once that opens, select "Advanced System Settings" on the left side, then click on the "Settings" button in the "Startup and Recovery" section. Once there, UNCHECK the box that says: "Automatic restart" in the "System Failure" section, then click on OK, etc.
