How to install original software on a rooted android phone ?

I accidentally rooted my HTC android phone, so how do I install the original software again. Please help.

factory reset should not lose root

you should be able to do a factory reset and keep root. however you will lose any apps that were installed as the result of that root. for more info, check out the xda forums. there are experts there.

with all the steps involved with rooting, there is no such thing as accidental rooting. one thing, your post is not clear as to whether or not you want to keep the root. go back to the site that gave you rooting instructions, most will tell how to remove it if you want it to be removed.

Use SuperSU to unroot

How to unroot Android: Using SuperSU:

1. Download and install SuperSU from the Google Play Store.
2.Launch SuperSU and go to the “Settings” tab.
3. Scroll down until you see “Full unroot”. ...
3. You'll be asked to confirm that you want to completely unroot your device – tap continue.
4. Once done, SuperSU will close automatically.
