Given such slim details it could be some antivirus protection or an OS damaged by malware or register cleaners.

I have a gateway model# SX2801 PC, running Microsoft's 64bit windows 7, and have been trying for months to install important Microsoft updates on this computer. I have tried every way suggested by Microsoft to install the updates (service pack #1 and a number of security upgrades) but can n o t install this software . Has anyone else had this problem with Gateway's SX 2801 PC and, if so, is their a solution to my problem?
