How to Install HP LazerJet 1100 Printer

by borgward / January 21, 2006 3:23 AM PST

I need driver for HP LazerJet 1100 printer for Win98SE.

I also need help Installing the printer. The Printer Wizard Keeps asking for the 98SE CD, even after I direct it to C:\(where the driver will be downloaded to)

There are no drivers for that printer on that disk.

Is there another way to install the printer w/o using the wizard?

Download the driver for Lj1100 from HP's website first. It's something like LJ517en.exe. Run it and it'll create 3 folders, one for XP-2k3, one for NT4, and one for 98me.

The INF and other files needed to install the printer driver will be in there.

You may need new separate pads when it feeds multiple pages from the paper tray. Find a fix-it kit off eBay is your cheapest bet.

Good luck.

it may be requesting the CD to install a parallel or USB ...

port, which won't be with the downloaded drivers. If you don't have W98SE cab files in C:\windows\options, then you'll have to have the CD. Usually when the Wizard asks and you put in a bogus entry, it will list the file it wants from some cab file.
