How to Import/Export Bookmarks?

Sep 24, 2005 10:55PM PDT

Okay. Decided to download Opera as an alternative browser (I usually use Firefox). In Opera, it gives me an option of importing Firefox bookmarks, but it leads me to a "Save in" window, where the "file name" field is empty, and I just don?t know where to go from there. Likewise, chossing "export bookmarks" in Firefox takes me to a "Save in" window. If I try to choose save in Opera, it fills in Opera as the file name and I get a "This file already exists" message. What am I missing here?

From there, use 'Look in' to browse to where the Firefox bookmarks are located:

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\YourUsername\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\Bookmarks.html (xxxxxxxx is just a string of random letters and numbers)

Windows 98: C:\Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\Bookmarks.html

Select 'Bookmarks.html' and press 'Open'. That should import the bookmarks into Opera.

The paths fizzles out after "Application Data" --
