Instead I use CLONEZILLA to save an entire image to that external. Since it's an image I can save more than one. Why would I limit myself to just one?
CLONEZILLA is free, has plenty of tutorials so I'll stop here.

I am a beginner, so bear with me...
I just bought a seagate backup plus external hard drive
What I want to do is:
Make an exact copy of my hard drive on external drive
Then in event of needing to reload everything, I don't want to have to do a clean install and reload all my extra programs etc..
So can I do it so I can just go back to where the hard drive was imaged/cloned (not sure of the definition of those terms) and have the hard drive the way it was complete?
