How to Hook up Samsung Tv, WD Media Player & Onkyo Receiver

Aug 6, 2018 10:42AM PDT

Hello Everyone!

I need a Tip in how to have the most usefull and best video audio connection between Samsung Mu7000, Western digital TV Hd Media player and Onkyo receiver TX SR505E.

I did different trials but I didn't get to the ideal solution yet, especially because I cannot control the volume of the receiver from the tv remote control and I am a bit confused with all this ports.

I don't know if i need to connect the WD (trough HDMI)to the receiver or to the tv connect box.

If the optical cable needs to be connected between the Tv and the receiver or from the WD media player to the receiver or from the Tv to the WD media box.

Samsung connect box has 4 HDMI port ( 1 of them is Arc but the receiver does not support it) and has a optical port.

WD tv HD Media player has an optical port and Hdmi port.

The receiver has 2 HDMI In and 1 HDMI Out assignable plus 2 optical ports.

Could you give me some suggestions please?
