How to hook up my Toshiba Satellite to tv

Apr 2, 2011 6:13AM PDT

I have a Toshiba Satellite L510 with a single display mode with VGA. I'm trying to hook it up with my Tv that has Svideo and RCA but i can't get it to work.

The operating mode is Single display and the Display Selection is (1) Primary Display which is Note book. I tried activating the external mornitor and changing the Aspect ration options but no luck.

Model Name Satellite L510
Part Number PSLF2C-01Q00G
OS Version Win Vista Home premium 6.0.6002 Service Park2
BIOS Version 1.40
CPU Pentium(R) Dual-Core T4200@2.00GHZ
Video Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family Version=7.15.10.1670

Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Pixels
Color Quality True Color (32Bit)

Please i need help.

Change "Primary Display" to external monitor instead of laptop.

The Primary Display does not give you any option for change. When you click on the drop down menu it shows only notebook so is the is the Operating Mode it does not give you the option to choose Multiple Display.

Don't even bother

Don't even bother. If your TV doesn't at least have VGA inputs, then the result won't be worth it. Do not waste any more time on this or you will regret it when you finally do get it working. The resulting picture quality will be bad in the best of circumstances and you'll never get more than about 640x480 out of either s-video or composite video. That's a 4:3 aspect ratio, yours is 16:9, so the resulting scaling will only compound what is already a completely lackluster sort of outcome in the best of circumstances.

Do not waste your time on this. When you have a better laptop and TV, maybe, but even then it never works even half as well as people's imaginations would have it.
