Question

How to hard reset Onda v975m tablet?

Feb 16, 2015 6:38AM PST

Hi

I can't find any info online on how to reset my tablet...I even tried at Onda's forums

Right now it's at a repair shop where it's been for four days now and they can't reset it either

When you turn it on it goes to a loop of showing a small box with Chinese characters for about a .2 of a second and repeats every 20 seconds

They've opened it up and say there doesn't appear to be any physical damage

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yes.

1. Go back to the seller and ask for fix or refund.

2. Hit XDA Forums and create this same question there are they are a way station for the world of off beat models.

3. I'm taking your word you did a search of the web. So I didn't do that.

In closing, I thought I warned you off no-name cheap tablets? They continue to create trouble for everyday folk.

I always thought any device could do a hard reset...that it was the nuclear option

I used to work for Verizon and have personally talked callers through hard resets on hundreds of phones and dozens of tablets

Isn't that supposed to be a last resort that always works? You would lose your info but in the end you got a device that worked again

Why is this so hard?

Sort of.

It works on good hardware but the office dabbled in cheap tablets when we first started Android work. After a few months we cleared them all out and stick with names.

Have you tried starting it up from COMPLETE OFF and then using (Vol+) plus Power button combination and it will get you into stock/factory recovery then from there do a factory reset. Or if all else fails (since you are willing to hard reset (i.e loose everything on the tablet) reflash the whole tablet again but this this time with mild customs ROM + TWRP Recovery installed, I have a V975m V3 hardware but now with 4Gb partition data plus TWRP and no worries of bootloop. I am just sounding it out : <span id="INSERTION_MARKER">http://www.ondaforum.com/
