how to get win xp to reconize a seta drive during install? becuase i cant get it to recognize my seta hard drive 80gig during istall

Two ways:
1. Install from an SP2 or SP3 disk.
2. When the install ask for RAID, point it to a diskette with the SATA driver for your PC.

Your choice.

what if i only got a sp1 disk?

i only have service pack 1 disk is it possible to install through a standard drive and then copy over to the sata drive?

You could try. I never do that anymore. Why?

Because the SATA drivers appear to need XP SP2 on the install CD.

It's a shame the make and model PC in question was not shared. Some have an IDE emulation mode that we can use instead.

It's like a car. Fixing it can be very hard if details like this are unknown.
