Question

How to get past Bitlocker without Admin login/password?

Aug 4, 2018 4:44AM PDT

So I'm trying to set up this hp elitebook 9470m laptop that a friend got from work after they switched companies. As soon as it turns on, Bitlocker comes up and wont let me do ANYTHING without the admin pin and name. Is there anyway around this? I dont care about what's on the drive, will replacing it with a new HDD work? Thanks in advance!

Have your friend ask at work what login/password they used.

Use the factory reset media to return the machine to as it was shipped.

As to wiping the old drive, if it's allowed you try booting DBAN and wiping the drive. If the laptop has the TPM (see google) module you may have to unplug that.
