Question

How to get audio out when playing a recorded show?

Feb 16, 2015 11:20PM PST

I have a Samsung TV UE55H7005.
And I have big hearingproblems and own diferent hearingaid systems. So I use one system to hear and my wife should then hear from the TV's loudspeakers.
I have connected my hearingaid to the optical audio out. It don't work when playing a recorded show or movie; but works fine with real time TV.

What can I do?

Answer
Call it in and ask how to set audio settings for this mode.

I don't see this called out in the manual but it sounds too similar to the Netflix audio issues. While in that mode, that's where we set where to send audio.

How do we set where to send audio?

Varies with model.

The models here do not do recording so I can't see the menu picks. However this issue comes up all the time with Netflix so my bet is that once the playback starts there's some setting in that app to tinker with.

Call Samsung since the model that I looked up omitted the settings I was looking for.
