Yes, formatting will indiscriminately delete EVERYTHING off of your hard drive. There is no way to format but leave the operating system intact or anything similar.

If you don't have an installation disc, it's possible there's a recovery partition on your system, but you'll want to check with the manufacturer about that.

And I know it's trivial, but there's no such thing as your internet. There's THE Internet, and then there's YOUR connection to THE Internet. In particular, your particular SETTINGS and CONFIGURATION that allows you to connect to THE Internet. We all share the same Internet. Also, it's generally best to leave the texting speak to text messages. Most of the time I don't even bother trying to decipher such things, I just pass over the message completely. I don't feel it's terribly unreasonable to expect people to make at least some modicum of effort to use proper english. Especially if english is your native tongue. You want to talk like some pre-adolescent girl with her friends with your friends, be my guest... But when you come to a public forum looking for assistance, it really is in your best interest to make sure as many people can understand what it is you're saying as possible. Which means using proper english, and not cryptic abbreviations.

First of all, English is NOT my native...also, I was in a hurry, so SORRY for not typing in proper English. I?m 21 years old knowing 2 languages, so if I don't feel like using proper grammar over the internet and you don?t like it, you can keep it to yourself.

You just wasted your time on typing that whole speech about how I talk without helping me at all. And guess what, because my Vista was pre-installed, there is an extra space on my hard drive that keeps it without a CD. Also, I was talking about whether I?d have to re-install my Comcast, which provides Internet.

Next time just keep your thoughts to yourself because you haven?t helped al all.
