How to force "Get Mail"??

Mar 8, 2010 4:06AM PST

This HAS to be the simplest/dumbest question I have EVER asked anyone about a puter, but how in the heck do you 'ask' Win Mail Live to download mail? I know about setting the download frequency, but sometimes if I am expecting an email I want to dl on MY terms!

I have not used Mail or Outlook Express much at all, but I am trying to get my wife and myself on the same software to make all the syncing easier.

TIA,

I'm a but confused about what you are asking. Are you asking about downloading attachments or just receiving new messages?

Download mail

No, Jeff, everything downloads when the software asks for a dl as scheduled. What I want to do is to be able to go to the mail screen, and tell it to GET MY MAIL NOW! rather than waiting for the scheduled check.

With Mozilla Thunderbird, there is a button to click that is called "Get Mail"...

Hope this is clear; if not, keep trying!

I think this is what you're asking about

There's a "sync" feature that can be activated either by F5 key or by "sync" button on the toolbar. Of there's no "sync" button, go view-customize toolbar to add it

I think this is it---I have the Synch button, but figured it was for---well, syncing, such as with a laptop etc.

Thanks ever so much!

F5

Pressing F5 will refresh whatever web page you are viewing, including your inbox. It is a handy trick if you are watching a live blog stream or in your case, checking for new mail Happy
