Question

How to fix the mouse scrolling function in Safari for PC?

Aug 15, 2011 5:52AM PDT

I have updated to the latest iteration of Safari for PC(5.1). I am using Windows 7 Sp 1 OS on a 1.6 MHz 1 GB RAM computer.[FYI]
Since the update I have lost the scrolling ability for my mouse when I open and use Safari 5.1.
This ONLY happens when I use Safari. I have of course by default IE 9 +Google Chrome + Firefox. I have NO problem w/ scrolling in these browsers. So what's going on with Safari? What has changed? How do I fix it? BTW the slider is the only thing I can use to move the page up.

Interesting.

My developer friends only use Safari when testing web page compatibility for iPhone, iPad and such. For other web use they use other browsers.

Mouse scrolling in latest Safari update

I appreciate the answer but I'm wondering what has changed in the latest update [5.1], since I didn't have this problem before in previous versions? Besides using the slider to move the page up or down, the only thing else that works is using the arrow buttons on the keyboard.(?)

To get an answer to that.

I think you'll have to ask Apple and more specifically the authors of that app.

Here we find Safari useful for the reasons stated but the office folk have learned to go with browsers that work and to move on when one stops working.
