Because super glue is a bit too brittle. I only do this on very old laptops (4 years and up) since we don't care about replacing the part since we are just trying to eek out a few more months.
So I fill the void or crack with the 2 part epoxy and usually cover with painter's tape so it has a nice finish. I remove the tape after the epoxy sets and on a few have bagged the laptop to spray paint the lid. The laptop must be in a plastic bag with only the exposed area we want painted. I use one of the Krylon spray paints that mention use on plastic.
I just noticed that my older laptop has a small crack on the lid. What is the best way to fix it, please? I have seen super glue and duct tape as fixes.
It is about 2 inches above the hinge and about an inch and a half long. Thank you
