res//ieframe.dll/acr_error.htm#

Yes I did that, and they told me to disable all the add-ons. I did that and IE still does not function. Thoughts?

Very odd.

Odd advice there. I disable ALL add ons. I may even reset the browser, scan with Grif advice and try another user account. It's a very old issue with no one cause.

Who are "they"?

If you are getting help from many forums, the advice will not be coherent most of the time and may result in a far worse issue.

Be sure your files are safe now.

This is a work computer. And I've just learned that someone ran ccleaners registery fix without backing up like it asked. But I was using IE after that before it started crashing. Grif says to delete anything new but nothing new has been installed since last month. Thoughts?

I'll just add my two cents

I take it you're aware that registry cleaners are snake oil, do nothing to help, and can cause problems. I just mention it in case you might not be aware. Also I'm like Bob when it comes to IE. It's simply too buggy to be of much use except Windows updates. And since we're talking about a business PC, it's probably just the IT folks who do that. If you can, you'll be better off using Firefox or Chrome instead of IE.

Good luck.

They are: Microsoft. I went to MS website

I went to MS website and typed in res//ieframe.dll/acr_error.htm#. They told me disable all add-ons. But that did not help.

That changes my advice.

It's a work PC, let your IT staffer do their thing. Too bad to read about the registry cleaning.

(NT) P.S. Thanks. I'll try what Grif suggest.
