Question

How to fix reception of channels on Samsung Smart TV!

Hi, I've had a Samsung Smart TV (32', not sure what model) for approx a year now and have had no issues with it.

However, as of last week, I have had problems with the reception of all channels on the Smart TV, solely. The sound is fine, but I'd liken the picture to that you'd expect on a day of heavy rain, distorted images etc.

This is a new issue and I've tried to retune the channels, play with the terrestrial & satellite settings on the TV, but to no avail.

I have a BT box as well (for over a year) and the picture on that continues to be fine. It's just the digital channels that come with the TV that have recently become an issue. Does anyone have any solutions?

Thanks.

Since the BT box is OK

That sounds like you need a better antenna. My choice was the biggest without looking like a ham gear person.

I had thought this at first, but my BT box also requires the antenna. If the antenna had been the issue, surely I'd have the same problem with the BT box (which isn't the case), no? (I'm a newbie at all this!)

Unlike cable or internet

Antennas rely on signal strength, paths and will change over time. I am encountering folk that are used to wired reliability. Antennas, not wired, can vary over time. Just a short answer here without breaking into communication and physics classes.
