Re: install path of Visio 2003

I happen to have the program installed on my PC, so I might try to find it for you, but before I spend any time on it, I'd like to know WHY you want to know the install path. Generally, it's only of interest for the installer and the uninstaller, not for anybody merely using the program.

I have a installation program which needs to copy some files to the "1033" folder of visio installation path.

for example if a user has installed Visio 2003 in the default path then the "1033" folder will reside as

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Visio11\1033"

my installation program is developed using InstallShield 7.

the installation program was originally designed to work with visio 2002. and it used the registry key value that i have mentioned in my first posting.

but now i need to modify the installer to work with visio 2003

hope this answered your question.

Ranmalc,

My best guess: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\InstallRoot
With me, it contains a variable Path with the value C:\Program Files\Visio2003\OFFICE11\
while I installed Visio 2003 in c:\program files\visio2003.

Then replace OFFICE11 with Visio11 and add 1033. Not quite true: with me (Dutch version) it's 1043. And that's the value of the variable SKULanguage in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Common\LanguageResources

Hope this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
