Question

How to find options for the Notes App on iPad3, iOS 8.4

Jul 10, 2015 5:37PM PDT

Hi, I have an iPad third generation. I recently upgraded my iPad to iOS 8.4. I did this by first using reset of the system to hopefully rid the system of any possible malware, etc, before installing the new iOS.

Okay, the question is the Notes App that I had on the original iPad was very basic, with no formatting of the notes. I like my Notes application to be this way, as takes much less memory on the iPad and is more universal as an application without the formatting. Now, the Notes on the new iOS 8.4 does have formatting. I have searched the iPad everywhere (the Settings, the Ap Store "Purchased" location) and could not find how to select Options/Preferences of this Notes ap, for making unformatted. Anybody know of how I can find Options/Preferences or other of the Notes to make this selection?

Thanks for your help, in advance.

D.

That doesn't make sense.

Could some other person please reply to this message? Resolving this issue is important to me.

There is the caption at the top of your reply, "this answers my question." That does not answer my question".

You said "maybe" indicating you are unsure. You are unsure of the answers yourself and send a Google search for your answer. If i get a replacement of the program that isn't going to resolve the problem. There must something somewhere in the device's system to adjust this program.

Notes, while light weight does so by dispensing with the features you wanted. As to unformatted, well I didn't find a way either. But it was still very small in it's memory use. Note: Moderator edited typo in title.

to turn off formatting in Notes and failed to find it, perhaps that means that there is no way to turn off the formatting of the Notes app in iOS 8.4

That said, if a plain text editor is important to you, take a look at this page for a list of plain text editors for iOS: http://brettterpstra.com/ios-text-editors/

Reduce the options. That's it. Folk are weary of customizing apps so if you can remove options altogether then that's the current thinking.

The more options the more folk will be confused. And here we have the opposite. You want more options. Nod to changing apps.

I don't believe that applies to this App. If you don't know about this app then why are you replying? - with guesses and generalizations?

Didn't find it either. That's not guessing. So I shared what I'm hearing in software development circles.

As this is a discussion forum, I think it's applicable.
