How to find cell phones with 3.5mm jack for my headset?

Mar 4, 2011 10:11AM PST

I am upgrading my present emergency-use cell phone to become my only phone, cancelling my too-expensive land line. I want to find a cell phone that's easy to dial and use (not necessarily a senior phone), doesn't need to have a camera or keyboard, but it must have a jack for me to use my two-ear Symphony headset. None of those I at Consumer Cellular or else seem to state whether or not they have such a jack and I can't tell from the ilustrations and CC has no kiosk in my area to see the phones in person. How to find this out?

Call the respective wireless carriers

They should be able to connect you with a support specialist who helps with seniors, etc.

Sorry for not reading your posting clearly, but is wasn't worded in a way that (explicitly) states that Consumer Cellular is who you receive your service from.

On their web site I see the very first handset, a Motorola WX345, does have the 3.5mm jack. That appears to be your only choice on the phones they current offer. I found a review on CNET which indicates the 3.5mm compatibility. Link-

FWIW, Nokias and Doros have 2.5mm jacks, and Samsung requires an optional adapter for normal 3.5mm headsets to work w/ many of their phones.
