Question

How to download Samsung drivers

Jul 7, 2011 1:19PM PDT

I have a Samsung external DVD-recorder attached to my home computer. When I checked on the Operations Programs (Which tell each piece of hardware, what to do, I realized that I have no "drivers", to tell my dvd-Recorder what to do.

That was the "easy" part. Now for the tough part.

I have tried, four times, to download the "drivers", for my dvd-recorder. The problem is that, each time I try to download the "drivers", all that happens is that four sponsored offers come up, on my screen.

Each time I click "decline", on the offers, AFTER clicking "download Now", for the "drivers", the drivers dont seem to down load. Only the adds seem to download.

If this has happened to anyone else, HOW did YOU get past the advertising, and download the "drivers"?

More questions.

- What DVD-recorder exactly (model number)?
- Where did you download from?
- How is it connected (eSATA, USB, Firewire)?
- What is the Operations program?
- Why do you think you need drivers?
- What does Device Manager say about the device?
- When you bought it, did it come with a CD with software (that could be a driver, but it could be other software like a burning program also)?
- What burning program do you intend to use and what error does it give if you try to burn a DVD?

Answer
Your OS provides native drivers ...

for that external DVD (unless you are running an old OS such as Win 95).

In order to make full use of the DVD writer you do need some type of CD/DVD burning software installed. If you have now installed any burning software then you might consider Nero or Roxio or NTI commercial software or you might want to take a look at CDBurnerXP which is freeware. http://cdburnerxp.se/

Check its compatible drives page to see if your drive or a clone is listed -
