How to disable Cache over the Network in Nero 7/8?

by cm2gj / November 6, 2009 7:26 AM PST

Hi.

In Nero 5.x and 6 I remember we had an option to disable cache of files over the network. Now in version 7 I only see one option: "disable cache for files from cd/dvd". I installed Nero 8 and see the same option.

Where is the option to disable "cache files over the network"??

Now, everytime I burn files from my network, Nero start first to copy the files to my computer, I lost precious time.

I don't need to cache the files, because:

- I'm running in a Gigabit network
- I normally burn big files
- The speed is a Quad Core with 4GB ram, 10,000rpm HD
- The network share where the files are located have 15,000 RPM hard drives

Can please someone let me know where to disable this option?

I see post is old but it still appears in google search so leaving answer here could help someone:

In Nero Burning Rom / New Compilation Dialog - go to MISC tab and disable it there. First option. (works on NERO 7 but it should be there in other versions too)

cheers

Network drive cached even though offline files disabled
by aikenwaisu / November 3, 2016 2:51 AM PDT

hi,

i've offline documents disabled on my community via group policies. i have confirmed this by means of going into the sync middle and clicking on 'manipulate Offline documents". when the window appears the "allow offline files" button is greyed out, and beneath that it says "Offline files is currently disabled".

however if I proper click on considered one of my mapped community drives (H:), under the overall tab it says "Offline" and the document gadget is indexed as "CSC-CACHE". The pie graph also indicates the present day ability and loose space of my C: pressure and not the community pressure.

If I right click on any of my different network drives it shows the report gadget as "NTFS" and the pie graph suggests the current unfastened area of the real community force.

although I try and manually navigate to the network location the use of windows explorer it nonetheless is showing the cached information. i'm able to inform this as some of the files have a gray "x" over their icon and i can't get admission to them. And also if I make changes to files they shop adequate, and the new version will open up first-rate on my Win 7 computer. however if I examine the file from a different laptop it nevertheless has a closing modified date of a couple of days in the past and none of my adjustments are in there.

Can a person please recommend how i can permanently disable offline record caching for this particular network region? i might've idea having offline documents disabled might've avoided this?! Is there a manner to put up screenshots as it might make this less complicated to explain?

thanks
