how to disable alt+shift+o in Vista Outlook

by soconncnet / April 3, 2008 5:09 AM PDT

While writing in Irish (Gaelic) I need to be able to accent all vowels, both upper and lower case. In XP I set up short cuts as follows: ctrl+vowel gave me the lower case accented vowel, while alt+shift+vowel gave me the upper case vowel. Now in Vista the previous set of short cuts works fine in Word, but in Outlook alt+shift+o sends me to Format. I need to disable this function in Vista Outlook. Please do not suggest that I use the number pad to get upper case accented "o".

What version of MS Office?
by Kees Bakker / April 3, 2008 5:51 AM PDT

XP, 2003, 2007? Might make a difference. In fact, I think the version of Office might be more important than the version of the OS (XP, Vista).

Many thanks. Something like this was tried earlier, and failed. A much more accomplished computer operator is now reproducing my set of 'vowels with accents shortcuts' in Office 2007/Outlook to see how to overcome the problem. If successful, I will send a note to the Forum. Again, thanks.

One of the best French door fridges we've tested

A good-looking fridge with useful features like an auto-filling water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It was a near-flawless performer in our cooling tests.
