Question

How to delete Wisecleaner Toolbar and ...?

1. Wisecleaner Toolbar appears on my Firefox without my knowledge. I wasn't able to delete the toolbar. Please tell me how.

2. The message "The 'Wisecleaner Toolbar' add-on from 'Ask.com' is ready for use [Enable] [Don't enable]" appears every time I go to my IE9 homepage. How to get rid of this message?

Clarification Request
..

1. What did you try in Firefox? What version of Firefox?
2. What happens if you choose "Don't enable"? in IE?
Might be useful to know if uninstalling from Control Panel doesn't work.

Answer
Have you

Have you looked in the uninstall programs window. Everything I have seen from Ask.com has a link in the uninstall window. This one I have not seen but it worth a look.

Not sure what you mean

Can you please clarify what you mean by "uninstall programs window"?

In any case, how to delete Wisecleaner Toolbar, which is already on my Firefox homepage?

(I downloaded Wise Registry Cleaner and Wise Disk Cleaner months ago and had no such problem until a few days ago. Do you mean if I uninstall the two programs (through "Uninstall a program" in Control Panel), the message on my IE9 homepage will go away?)

How to uninstall a program

This is from windows 7, might be different if you have Vista or XP. Click the windows button in the bottom left corner of your screen. Click control panel, then click programs and features. The window that opens is the program uninstall window. Look for anything that says Wisecleaner toolbar. The toolbar might be separate from the programs that you have mentioned. You mentioned that it says it is from Ask.com so also look for ask.com toolbar.

Thanks!

I went to Control Panel and uninstalled Wisecleaner Toolbar (it was downloaded without my knowledge on June 1, 2011). Things are now fine. Thank you TWB404!!!
