How to create a discrete an complete Windows 7 recovery kit?

Dec 23, 2009 8:29AM PST

I've just bought a Gateway desktop with Win 7 HP installed (no installation CD though). Although it does come with a solution of system recovery, I would feel more comfortable to have my own backup kit in case of hard drive failure preventing me from booting up the OS.

Could anyone share how to do it in Win 7 making a boot disc, a system image, and please explain how to restore the system especially if OS fails to boot up.

Thank you.
