How to copy iPhone 6 Plus music back to Mac

Nov 20, 2014 8:40AM PST

I purchased an 16G iPhone 6 Plus two months ago and now the device is filled up with all kinds of staff, like music and videos. The storage is in short and i must have to free up some storage to install apps. But I still didn't figure out how to transfer my music and videos from iPhone 6 Plus back to Mac, so i can delete a bunch of on iPhone. Are there any apps and tools capable of doing this, i knew iTunes can only help you transfer files from Mac to iPhone.

Some folk did that and burst into flames as they lose it all. Backups are crucial here.

Great tip. I already backed all content with iTunes and iCloud. Any suggestion on this topic?

You can try iOS data manager app.

I have to say that when you do iCloud backup (tap Settings > iCloud > Backup > Back Up Now), your music and other files are backed up to iCloud. The only inconvenient thing is that the backup file is a compressed package which you can't preview it manually and extract files to Mac.

Other method is try iPhone manager app. You can try iPhone manager for Mac app to transfer music from iPhone 6 to Mac.

When I logged into iCloud panel, there is no option for music, only contacts, photos, notes and documents are available for backup.

However, I will try this app soon and see what's capable of doing.

Thanks for your suggestion.

transfer music from iPhone to Mac

Connect your device to the computer. Wait for its icon to appear in iTunes.
Go to File > Devices.
Choose Transfer Purchases from iPhone.

But remember this feature works only for music bought from the iTunes Store. Any items that you imported from audio CDs or received from other sources won't copy from your iPhone to the iTunes library.
