How to convert video files????????

I have a zd8000 notebook and I'm using the TV tuner to record stuff from my police scanner. Now when I record, I can only do it in video, how can I convert the video into an audio file??????? or how can I use the TV tuner to record audio only. Is there any free software that will help me with any of this????

Try these at Google.com:

1. VIRTUAL DUB.

Allow you to split off the audio.

2. AUDACITY.

Record the audio that is playing.

For WMV... You'll have to convert it first.

Look up WinAVI on google.com

It's what I use when someone makes a PROPRIETARY VIDEO FILE like that.

I was searching the forums here and found out I can use Music Match Jukebox to record my stuff. But thanks for the help anyways.
