Clarification Request
Is it usually just as easy to convert from jpg to pdf.
Apr 16, 2019 10:34AM PDT

my scanner doesn't scan pdf for some reason. I have to scan to photos then convert to pdf. changes to Acrobat require a subscription. I only need to scan once in a very blue moon, why would i buy a monthly subscription? and commit for a year?
I'd rather have a program I can rely on or use the tools i have. im on a pc with windows - office 365 - or 10 2nd laptop available networked.

Chrome
Windows Apps

trying to get a refund and have to send a ridiculous amont of documentation. Help.

Insert picture into MS Office. Make it bigger or smaller as needed. Save as pdf. Done.

But it's not the scanner that makes it a pdf, but the software running on your PC (for me that's IJ Scan Utility from Canon). Try reinstalling that.

The usual is to install a JPEG PRINTER DRIVER.

Or try Zamzar.com. JPEG PRINTER DRIVERS and use are on the web (see google) so I'll stop here.

Pages, or just an image from a pdf?

Have you tried hitting the PrtScr key and seeing if there's an option to "save image" or do a "screenshot"? Any imaging program that will do screenshots which you can then "crop" out the image from should work OK. I think even Windows paint program does that, in Linux there's Pinta or the gnome-screenshot program.

As to screenshots. A tip.

Rotate your screen to maximize what you capture. Look at my old setup:

When I put a full page view on the portrait display, the capture was about as good as it gets.

I use irfanview (free image viewer and editor). With File>Open I open the pdf and then I save it as .jpg. No problem at all.

I'd recommend Acethinker PDF Converter which I have used for many years. It's a free web-based application to convert PDF to JPG image, No need to subscribe or signup anything.
