Question

How to convert odt files to doc files ?

Dec 21, 2011 3:33AM PST

I saved my resume using open office. It is saved in odt. I need to send it to an employer in htm, html. doc, docx, pdf, rtf, or txt. Could someone please explain to me what I need to do to accomplish this? Open office would not let me save it in a fomat I need. I have Vista. Thanks very much for your help.

A indow came up saying this formatt may contain formatting or content that cannot be saved in MS word. Then it asks if I want to save anyway. When I do and go back and try to open and/ or to send it hasn't been saved.

THAT is an entirely different issue.

I know the message is lost on many folk but all it means is that you used some formatting or content that is not possible in MS Word.

Save it anyway.

Now go put that .DOC file on Google Docs and see how it looks.

--> But PDF is natively supported and should preserve that formatting and content. I'm sorry but why isn't the PDF option an option here?
