Question

How to connect wired network to both TV and Wii

Jul 17, 2011 4:50AM PDT
I connect my TV to the internet via HDMI connection from my network's router. I wish to also connect my Wii to the internet. Can I do this with switches? Can I do this with splitters? Can I do this?

Answer
HDMI doesn't do that (yet.)

So far no common router supplies an Internet connection over HDMI.

The Wii has Wifi built in so I suggest you upgrade your router to one with wifi.

About the TV. Without make or model I can't tell how it would be connected.

My LINKSYS router connects to my Samsung TV HDMI input.

Others informed me that wireless suffers when it is a long distance from the TV. So, I remain satisfied with HD and even 3d on my TV via a cable. Thus, I am reluctant to go wireless. Isn't the connection on the back of the Wii for HDMI?
