Question

How to connect TVs 3.5mm Jack to optical out

Jul 21, 2017 12:05AM PDT

Hi,

Can someone please suggest me a suitable Adaptor to connect my LED TV to my Soundbar.

My TV Has got only HDMI ports & a 3.5mm Jack Output. It does not have HDMI Arc nor Optical In. Whereas, my soundbar can be connected to only via HDMI Arc, Optical IN, Wifi or Bluetooth.

My TV Model #Sony KLV-32EX330

My Soundbar Model #Bose Soundtouch 300 Soundbar.

I need to watch movies from my TVs USB. And I can't enjoy my speakers.

Maybe not

If I recall, some of the middle eastern models actually had a hybrid 3.5mm output, like some PCs.
In this regard you could use a mini-toslink to toslink cable, avoiding a converter. YMMV. Need to verify model/region in order to review hdtv user manual online.

You need an analog to digital audio converter.

Most I see only have RCA input so you might need a 3.5mm to RCA adapter also. Try Radio Shack, Best Buy, Newegg, Amazon or the shop where you bought your TV or soundbar.
