How to connect PC to TV ?

Hi, I just upgraded my pc to a new one running win 7. I would like to be able to rent movies through my pc and watch them on my tv. I would really appreciate any help as I do not know how to make the connection and bring my PC screen to my TV.
I thank You in Advance for any help.

Simple . . .

You match the INPUT of the TV (video and audio) with an OUTPUT from the PC. Since you didn't list these we can only be generic.

PC to TV

Hi, I'm sorry I really know nothing about this. So I am going to use the color coded cables from tv to pc? What about a usb connection, do I need this also. Also my tv is about ten feet from my pc so should I pay more for the higher end cables?
Please bear with me.
Thank You,
John

Re: PC to TV

USB isn't the way to go. Color coded cables might be, although it's too easy to use the wrong kind of cable or put it in the wrong ports.

Now please tell:
- what video outputs does your PC have (like VGA, DVI, HDMI)
- what audio outputs does your PC have
- what video inputs does your TV have
- what audio inputs does your TV have

The user manuals should tell you.

It can also be done wireless, but wired is cheaper (if it works!).

PC to TV movies

Depends on how much you want to spend.
Have you considered gettting a blu-ray player with network connection that can play the movies from your pc directly. All you would need then is to network the player with the pc, wired or wireless if you get the right player. You may even have one already.
That would solve the distance problem.
