It's better and safer to put it in a box. Such cables are meant for a repair shop so they can quickly work with a disk on their repair bench. Not for daily use at home.
If I used that cable then can it work. Does Hard drive need power supply to connect with Laptop. I watch adapter in some youtube videos.
you could have issues, personally I would prefer the external drive to have its own power.
That hdd will need an external power supply or a sata cable that uses 2 usb ports.
If your going to use this external often an enclosure would be best.
