How to connect new Blu-ray to-TV,VCR,Cable,SurSoundwDVD

Jan 3, 2010 9:47AM PST

I currently have a cable box with my TV, VCR, Surround Sound Receiver and multi-DVD player hooked up together and working. How do I connect my Blu-ray into that? It has internet capabilities, Netflix etc...Where does it fit in?

I think the easiest would be...

connect the BD directly to the TV with a hdmi cable and optic or coax audio from the TV to the receiver (if they are compatible).

How to connect new blu-ray to existing system
Jan 4, 2010 3:10PM PST

My new blu-ray needs to somehow fit into my current system: Cable box, VCR, Surround Sound Receiver and seperate multi DVD Player and older TV (temporary) that is not HD-TV or Flat screen. In back it has a S-Video port and an audio in and out(a pair of red and white ports).

I know I am not going to get the full benefits of a bluray player unless I have an hdmi cable and a HD-TV, but for now it will download Netflix so I want to hook it up.
So should I connect my blu-ray to the TV using S-Video cables... or what?
thank you in advance

Then set it aside (temporary), or...

return it to the store if that's still possible. BD player is of no use if you don't have a HDTV (1080p preferred).
