How to connect my laptop to my tv

by littlenicky118 / September 19, 2008 9:13 PM PDT

Hi all, I want to connect my Dell inspiron 6400 to my pnasonic viera th37px70 plasma tv. I tried using the blue lead that normally connects my pc to the monitor but when i connected it to the pc terminal at the back of the television the image came out all blury and there was no sound. Is there a special lead that i need and if so which one is it. BTW i have HDMI on the back of the TV but not on the back of my laptop, any help would be appreciated.

Just one remark (and not about the picture quality).

The VGA-cable you used only brings the video to the monitor. If you have a monitor with speakers, you'll note a separate audio connection. So you should use the audio input of your TV also. That makes sense, doesn't it?

It does make sense but the picture was very blurry so i thought i would need to get another cable? How do i get picture and sound then to my tv?. I've tried looking everywhere but can't find anything

(as output by the laptop) to that expected by the TV as input? That should help.

Does the TV has audio input somewhere? That should be used for the audio.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
