how to connect my hp laptop to the tv

I have a hp dv2000, and a panasonic tv.now i was wondering how do i connect my laptop to my tv. and what do i need.pllzz help

the sides of your computer. Most hp laptops will have a round, multi-pin plug, that is called s-video. your laptop could also have a monitor port (just like you would have on desktop computers) If your tv has ether one of these, buy the cable. S-video probably is the most common on your tv. Plug the cable in, boot up the computer (you will have to select a different video mode on the tv) and if you are lucky, your operating system will ask you what do you want to do. If it doesn't, right click on the screen, go to properties and select settings, select the external monitor (your tv)

Connecting HPPavillion 2000 to Sharp Digital TV

I want to connect my PC to My Sharpt TV. I do have an SVideo Port on both. If I connect using that will I get both video and sound?

You will need to run a separate audio cable.
