It would hand out IPs basic on the network MAC address and since the ethernet and wifi differ you get a different IP.
There should be no issue unless something is not stock. That is, some expert configured it.

With my belkin router i can access the internet with the wireless but not with cable. I need simple instuctions to either delete the address from the router DHCP page or assign a cable connection a fixed IP address outside the DHCP range, and then try to reserve a DHCP addresses for both wireless and cable so they will not clash. Any suggestions are welcome, I really need step by step instruct, i am not up to speed with any of this yet, so please be patient. i am on a dell optplex 755 desktop, with windows xp, with firefox. thank you
