Question

how to conect to computers advanced lan....

Apr 23, 2013 11:00PM PDT

hi there friends...my problem is:
(in the first place my english:))
hahaha...

i have a router, and few computers connected to to this router thru the wireless. one of the computers i have has no wireless connection (computer B), and is connected to the internet only when connected LAN wire to another computer that has wireless to the router (computer A), it happens that "computer B" has internet because "computer A" is sharing a proxy connection with LAN connection, So if "computer A" get disconnect from the proxy computer B do not get any internet connection at all, i made it up this way cos i do not want "Computer B" going to the internet with my real ip...
And the problem comes here... I only have access to "computer B" from "computer A"...non other computer connected to the wireless router can find "computer B"....and well is kind of normal...i tried very naive ways... do not laugh about me xd, what i tried was access to the shared folders in "computer B" from another computer connected to the wireless router and i tried to do it thru "computer A", i tried making shortcuts from shared folders in "computer B" and placing them in a shared folder in "computer A", so off course no working...i tried also to connect with windows explorer, example: \\computerA\\computerB\ and off course not working...
So the only way i made it possible for any computer connected to the wireless router to have access to shared folders in "computer B" is when i bridge the connections (wireless & LAN) "in computer A", then i can access to "computer B" from any other computer connected to the wireless router but i have the problem "that computer B" is going to the internet with my real ip.

so here is the question... there is any other way for the computers connected to the wireless router to have access to "computer B" thru "computer A"

i hope i made my self clear..... thx a lot in advance....

Answer
I never support such a setup.

It can and has resulted in the owner calling up and demanding support to make it work as good as a setup with a router with wired ports.

With that out of the way I also NEVER use a proxy. If you want to research some title here's what I suggest.

-> Virtual Router.

For XP you have to search for other solutions.

Here I've found it cheaper to use a router. At Fry's I always find 20 buck routers but if you google the following
"Virtual Router for XP" you find the titles folk use on XP.
