How to close APPS running in background?

Jan 7, 2013 4:11AM PST

I need a basic tip for closing apps when not in use. I'll get Pandora in my pocket sometimes, days after using it. I know the hold and wait till they shake for deleting, but I don't think that is my solution. Any tips?

Personal preference: Double tap the home button to access the multi-task bar, scroll through the list of apps and select the apps you'd like to terminate by holding down on the icons until small minus symbols are revealed... Do this for each of the apps you want to close in the background. <-- I believe this will suit your needs best.

As an unfavorable alternative: This might be more of a hassle than you'd like, but have you considered rebooting the device after heavy use sessions to terminate unwanted apps in the background?

Gee.. thanks for the information. I'm having the same dilemma. I just can't seem to use my other apps well, ReMINEd or other photo apps for instance, when there are still some game apps running in the background even though I closed them already. I really don't understand why. But thanks to you, I know now what to do. Thanks.

Double tap Home and then use an upward swipe of the preview for the app you wish to turn off
