How to clean the glass on a flatbed Canon scanner

Mar 10, 2005 11:58PM PST

I have had a Canon flatbed scanner for over a year now. The glass has a few fingerprint smudges.
What is the best way to remove these? Would a glass cleaner be ok or is it too strong?

Thanks

Window cleaner works well, but be careful not to let it get beyond the glass into the inside of the scanner.

You can also use a cotton pad moistened in isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.

Plain water on a towel or wipets do fine, provided it is "glass". Spray the towel if you use that and not directly on the scanner panel. Most manuals, provides some deatils on cleaning instructions, review it for what yours uses or suggests.
